NEW YEARS’ EVE WORKING 2016 - An update

Dear Colleagues It has been brought to my attention that Aslef has been making wildly inaccurate claims about this Union’s position on NYE payments for drivers. It saddens me to have to refute statements from another union, because I believe we should always strive to work together, but I cannot allow falsehoods to go unchallenged.

Following an overwhelming vote for action by RMT drivers on the Hammersmith and City and Circle Lines, and a failure to reach an agreement in talks held through ACAS right up to the wire yesterday, the union has confirmed this morning that 24 hours of strike action will go ahead from this evening.

All affected members have been instructed NOT TO BOOK ON for any shifts that commence between:-

DRIVERLESS TESTING, JUBILEE LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/10)

The following resolution was recently received from the London Transport Regional Council:-

“Jubilee South Branch has been made aware that testing has taken place on the Jubilee Line whereby trains were moved without the need of the operator to ‘activate’ the cab before using ATO buttons.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/212/16, 29^th July 2016), the ballot papers were posted out to affected members on Tuesday 9^th August and the closing date for this ballot is Tuesday 23^rd August 2016. I will keep you advised of all further developments.

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, DRIVERS, HAMMERSMITH & CITY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/092/16, 4^th April 2016), the Company was informed of a dispute situation due to a number of issues affecting members on the Hammersmith & City Line including breaches of the attendance at work policy, an overbearing management team, refusal to release reps for meetings and misuse of the disciplinary policy.

NIGHT RUNNING – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/15/4)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/200/16, 19^th July 2016), I informed the Company of the dispute situation between us over the proposed rosters for Victoria Line Train Operator and Instructor Operator members. Since then, further meetings have taken place with the Company and RMT Reps. LUL has offered an additional review of the new rosters after eight weeks although Reps can also continue to raise any immediate concerns in the usual way.

NIGHT RUNNING – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/15/4)

“Finsbury Park Branch resolves to request an immediate ballot for strike action and action short of strike action of all our Victoria Line Train Operator members to resist the imposition of new duty rosters in connection with the start of night tube on 19^thAugust.
