LUL Pay and Night tube update acas talks 10th November 2015 Today our delegation met the company for the first time since October 14th. No revised offer was made with regards to pay and conditions However the company have said that they are prepared to move away from the interim arrangements and revise it to the long term solution on night tube .

Further to my previous Circular (IR/256/15, 22nd October 2015), where I informed you that the Union would be conducting a referendum amongst our Train Operator and Instructor Operator members over discussions regarding trial arrangements for a 36 hour 4 day week at two depots.

Question: Are you prepared to take action short of a strike?
When RMT entered the London Underground pay talks, one of our original demands was a 4 day, 32 hour week with no loss of earnings. LUL has dismissed this. A counter proposal came from staff side for a 4 day 36 hour week. LUL said that this could only be achieved if the same amount of handle turning time is completed over 4 days as it was over five. This will inevitably involve changing the Trains Framework Agreement. Simple arithmetic shows working that four eight-hour shifts is never going to equal a 36 hour week.
TUBE UNION RMT confirmed today that train operators across the Piccadilly Line have voted overwhelmingly for both strike action and action short of a strike over a comprehensive breakdown in industrial relations combining a range of issues. Over 70% voted to strike with an even larger majority for action short. The result will now be considered by the union’s executive.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/175/15, 23rd July 2015), members will recall the General Grades Committee took the decision to declare a dispute situation with London Underground over a catalogue of issues affecting Train Operator and Instructor Operator members on the Piccadilly Line, which include:-
Your Train Functional reps (from both unions) along with John Leach met the employers at ACAS on Tuesday afternoon (September 15th). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a joint RMT/Aslef proposal to introduce Night Tube.
Members of all unions once again showed the power of united action with another magnificent display of strength during the last strike. The all-grades overtime ban is hitting LUL hard and we have seen proof of this on their central target board. It has more red crosses than a game of Celebrity Squares with actual lost customer hours almost double the target. Lost hours caused through the Fleet overtime ban are 15 times higher than the target!
