Moving The Goal Posts: Tube Bosses Arbitrary Performance Bonus

Moving the goalposts?

A few years ago LUL introduced a performance bonus for operational staff. It wasn't something the RMT asked for, or were happy about. As a Union we believe that all earnings should be consolidated, i.e. included in the salary so that it is pensionable and goes up with inflation. However, LUL wanted a system that rewarded “good performance” so decided to pay us extra if we met certain targets. Sometimes we met them and sometimes we didn't – but at least it was possible to meet them.

As Tube Job Cuts Kick In, Race Crimes Increase

RMT demands end to staff cuts as new figures show continuing increases in race hate crimes on our railways

"Unfair dismissal Bro Noel Roberts
This Branch notes the unfair dismissal of Brother Noel Roberts. This Branch resolves to continue campaigning for his reinstatement. This Branch requests the GGC to call for a ballot for industrial action of all our members on the East Ham, Tower Hill and Embankment groups, with a view to moving to an all grades ballot in support of Bro Roberts' campaign for reinstatement"

A Message to LU Station Staff - Draft BNS/Rosters: Defend our Staffing Levels!

This week, management are publishing the draft Business Needs Schematics (BNS) and rosters for Fit for the Future - Stations. These are being presented to your union reps at a local ('level one') meeting, and reps will then consult you and take your views back to a feedback meeting. The BNS shows where management think staff are needed on the station. The roster shows the days, hours and rest days that staff are expected to follow.

Hounslow West Tube Needs A Ticket Office

RMT Piccadilly and District West Branch and 'Hands Off London Transport' will be demonstrating and leafleting outside of Hounslow West station on Wednesday morning from 7 to 9 am.

London underground wants to close all ticket offices and cut around 850 jobs in a move which will see tube services reduced especially for those who need assistance most, and yet more relatively decent jobs lost in London.

Please join us as we send a message to London Underground bosses and Tory mayor Boris Johnson that we don't want austerity to destroy the tube.
